Estology vs. ScopeVista

ScopeVista turns one carrier estimate and one contractor estimate into a downloadable comparison report: side-by-side line-item deltas with a category rollup, automated flagging of significant variances, and narrative text explaining each one. The deliverable is an XLSX built for dropping into a claim file. Its own site states it supports Xactimate estimate PDFs only. The company lists Austin, Texas. New accounts get five free credits to evaluate fit; no per-credit price is published.

FAQ

Questions about Estology and ScopeVista.

Does ScopeVista read Symbility estimates?

+

No -- its site states ScopeVista currently supports Xactimate estimate PDFs only. That matters on a mixed claim, which is common: carriers frequently issue in Symbility while the contractor writes in Xactimate. Estology reads both and normalizes them into the same shape, so a Symbility carrier estimate can be compared against an Xactimate contractor estimate directly.

What does ScopeVista cost?

+

It gives new accounts five free credits to evaluate fit, but does not publish a price per credit or a subscription rate. Estology publishes everything: $10 per project, first project free, or $79-$249 per month for a team.

How do the reports differ?

+

ScopeVista's deliverable is an XLSX with deltas, narratives and variance totals. Estology's report is rendered in-app and exports as a PDF, with a CSV of the line detail, and every derived figure traces back to the specific cell in the source PDF it came from. If a spreadsheet is what your file needs, that is a genuine point in ScopeVista's favour.

What does Estology do that ScopeVista does not?

+

ScopeVista is a comparison tool for one pair of estimates. Estology keeps the estimates in a Project and adds Review (a 0-100 readiness score against named standards, plus checks against the carrier's own estimating guidelines), Budget (baseline versus actuals with a critical-path schedule), custom price lists, and cross-job analysis -- all from the same parsed estimate, without re-uploading.

What people say after a real project.

Unedited feedback from contractors, carriers, adjusters, and estimators who use Estology.

"

"Used Estology on a $47,000 water loss. It found the missing line items and price drift in about ten minutes. The carrier accepted the supplement the same day."

John M.
Restoration Estimator
"

"As a general contractor, I used to spend hours cross-referencing estimates. Now I upload both PDFs and have a defensible line-by-line report before lunch."

Tim G.
General Contractor
"

"I needed to explain why the contractor's estimate was higher than ours. Estology gave me a clear, sourced breakdown that both sides trusted."

Phil R.
Insurance Adjuster
"

"We had three competing estimates on one file. Estology showed exactly where each one differed and why, so the negotiation took one call instead of five."

Dana W.
Claims Manager
"

"My position letter practically wrote itself. Every variance was sourced back to the original estimate pages, so the adjuster had nowhere to push back."

Sarah K.
Public Adjuster
"

"I caught $12,000 in dropped scope the adjuster missed. Without a side-by-side comparison, that would have come out of my pocket."
