No. Upload into a project and run whichever tools the job needs, in any order -- Review one estimate, Compare two others, put a third into Budget. Nothing requires a fixed sequence.

Xactimate-generated PDF estimates from either side: the contractor estimate and the carrier's. Both must be text-based PDFs (not scanned images). Multi-coverage carrier documents are supported.

Contractors, carriers, adjusters, public adjusters, attorneys, and homeowners reviewing multiple estimates for the same property loss. The report is neutral: it documents where the estimates diverge, not who is right.

Yes. If you have a carrier estimate and a contractor estimate for the same claim, upload both PDFs to see exactly where the scopes and numbers differ. You can share the report with your adjuster or contractor to work from the same facts. Estology does not decide who is right; it documents the difference.

Contractors can upload the original carrier estimate and their own estimate to identify dropped scope items, substituted line items, quantity differences, and price drift before preparing a supplement or entering settlement discussions.

Carriers and adjusters can compare a contractor supplement against the original estimate to spot scope inflation, duplicate items, price changes, and misapplied coverages. Every discrepancy is documented with its source line.

Most comparisons complete in under three minutes. Larger multi-coverage estimates can take up to eight. You can leave the page. Your comparison history updates when your report is ready.

A project charge that does not produce a working project (the upload cannot be read at all) is refunded in full: no questions, no ticket. Individual Review/Compare/Budget runs inside a project are never separately charged, so a run that fails to complete simply does not count against your project's included allotment. There is nothing to refund.

No. Your documents are stored per-account, accessed only via short-lived signed links, and never shared with other customers. Narrative generation uses only the comparison delta JSON, not the raw estimates.

No. Estology is an arithmetic and alignment tool. It surfaces every discrepancy so you can supplement or negotiate with evidence, but it does not represent you in a claim or make coverage determinations.

Coverages are detected during parse (e.g. BUILDING and EDUCATION WING with separate deductibles). The delta ledger reconciles both per-estimate totals and per-coverage totals to the Loss Recap Summary.

Line-item substitutions, dropped scope items, quantity drift, unit-price drift, O&P miscalculation, tax base errors, depreciation deltas, recoverable vs non-recoverable errors, geometry mismatches, and coverage misallocation.

No. Xactimate is an estimating platform owned by Verisk. Estology is an independent tool that compares two Xactimate-generated PDFs. It does not create estimates or connect to Xactimate's pricing database.

Every reported number is validated against the source PDFs. The delta ledger must reconcile to the top-line gap or the comparison fails. The report also traces each derived number back to a source computation row.

Estimate Review prices each gap from the estimate itself. The quantity comes from that estimate's own room measurements, roof facets, or S500 equipment sizing. Equipment is priced at the shortfall against the sizing minimum and an underscoped line at the delta, never the whole line. The unit price comes from the estimate's own price for that code where it already appears, then the same item family on the estimate, then your published price list, then a k-anonymized reference median. Each figure shows its basis and its arithmetic.

It stays unpriced. A finding with no defensible quantity or no available unit price is counted separately in the total so the roll-up never pretends to be complete, and Estology never invents a price to fill the gap.

No. Each figure is quantity times unit price, rounded to whole dollars: the line-item basis, before overhead, profit, and tax. It is what the estimate would grow by, not a settlement demand or a prediction of what will be paid.

Your first project is free with no credit card required, and it is a trial: one Review run, one Compare run and one Budget, and its work product stays in the app rather than being downloadable. After that, each project costs $10.00 USD and is auto-charged to a saved card. A paid project includes up to 5 Review runs, 3 Compare runs, and 2 Budgets across every job in it, plus up to 5 custom price lists per organization, and downloads are yours. You can remove your card at any time.

No. Pay as you go at $10.00 per project works with no monthly fee and no seat count. Team plans are optional, lower the effective cost per project, and remove the per-project run caps entirely.

Starter is $79 per month with 10 projects included, Business is $199 per month with 30, and Enterprise is $249 per month with 50. Every plan has unlimited users, admin controls, per-user usage caps, and unlimited Review/Compare/Budget runs on every project (no 5/3/2 cap).

Yes. Anything you do not use in a billing period rolls into the next month automatically and is spent before you are ever charged for an overage. On your annual renewal date any remaining balance is retired and you start fresh with that period's pool.

Once your included pool and rolled-over balance are used up, additional projects are billed at your plan rate: $8 on Starter, $7 on Business, and $5 on Enterprise. Without a plan, projects are $10 each. Organization admins can also turn overages off entirely.

Yes. Reports are available in-app and can be exported as a PDF. You can share the exported PDF with the other party, your manager, or your file.

Yes. Payment data is stored by Stripe, not by Estology. We keep only the card brand, last four digits, expiry, and the Stripe payment-method ID.

Closing your account is available from account settings. It removes your comparisons, reviews, budgets, exports, profile details, and payment-method reference, and your login stops working for good. Estimates and job files you uploaded are kept permanently, along with the PDFs they came from. If you belong to an organization, everything you produced for it stays with the organization. Only its admins can remove that.

No. Work produced inside an organization is the organization's record rather than personal data, so exports and deletion are done by its administrators. You can always close your own login; doing so leaves the organization's estimates and reports untouched. Admins can suspend a member, which revokes access to the organization while leaving that person's own account alone.
