Estology vs. ScopeSplit
ScopeSplit is built specifically for roofing and restoration contractors working insurance claims. It matches line items across Xactimate, Symbility and other estimating outputs even when descriptions and zone names differ, then shows a gap-analysis dashboard broken down by zone, category and overall, with missing-item detection, line-item editing and notes, and a PDF export. It works on mobile as well as desktop. It is one of the few products in this set that publishes its full price and lets you sign up without talking to anyone: $59, $179 or $349 a month for 10, 35 or 100 comparisons, after a seven-day free trial.

Questions about Estology and ScopeSplit.
Is ScopeSplit cheaper than Estology?
+
It depends on volume, and at low volume ScopeSplit's Starter tier is the cheaper way to run comparisons alone: $59 a month for 10. Estology charges $10 per project with no subscription, so ten projects is $100 -- but a project is not a comparison. The same $10 project also covers Review runs, a Budget, custom price lists and cross-job analysis on every job inside it, and the first project is free.
Does ScopeSplit read Symbility estimates?
+
Yes -- its site describes comparing Xactimate, Symbility and other estimating-platform outputs side by side. Estology reads both as well, and records the platform per estimate rather than per project, so a Symbility carrier estimate and an Xactimate contractor estimate can sit on the same claim.
Can I edit the comparison in Estology like I can in ScopeSplit?
+
No, and that is deliberate. ScopeSplit lets you edit line items and add notes on the comparison itself. Estology's report is derived from the source PDFs and every figure traces back to the cell it came from, so it stays inspectable as evidence -- hand-editing it would break that guarantee. You can attach notes and exhibits around the report instead.
What does Estology do that ScopeSplit does not?
+
ScopeSplit is a comparison tool for contractors. Estology adds Review (a 0-100 readiness score against IICRC, EPA/OSHA and building-code citations, plus checks against the carrier's own estimating guidelines), Budget (baseline versus actuals, buyout tracking, a critical-path schedule and weather history), custom price lists with .PLX round-trip, and cross-job analysis. It is also built to be used from either side of a claim rather than the contractor side only.
What people say after
a real project.
Unedited feedback from contractors, carriers, adjusters, and estimators who use Estology.
"Used Estology on a $47,000 water loss. It found the missing line items and price drift in about ten minutes. The carrier accepted the supplement the same day."
"As a general contractor, I used to spend hours cross-referencing estimates. Now I upload both PDFs and have a defensible line-by-line report before lunch."
"I needed to explain why the contractor's estimate was higher than ours. Estology gave me a clear, sourced breakdown that both sides trusted."
"We had three competing estimates on one file. Estology showed exactly where each one differed and why, so the negotiation took one call instead of five."
"My position letter practically wrote itself. Every variance was sourced back to the original estimate pages, so the adjuster had nowhere to push back."
"I caught $12,000 in dropped scope the adjuster missed. Without a side-by-side comparison, that would have come out of my pocket."
